Build your first estimate by opening

Group lines by door, add options and a deposit schedule, then send one link for signature.

An estimate in Rundown can be a flat list or grouped by opening. Grouping is worth it for commercial work, because the groups become opening records when the job is approved.

Build it

  1. 1Start a new estimate from a client, a site or a lead.
  2. 2Add an opening group, for example Door 101, and add its lines from the price book: strike, reader, request-to-exit, door position switch, labor.
  3. 3Repeat for each opening, or import a hardware schedule to create the groups for you (Pro and above).
  4. 4Add options if you want the client to choose, and mark shared lines as always included.
  5. 5Set the deposit and any milestones, such as 50% on approval, 40% at substantial completion and 10% after inspection.
  6. 6Fill in scope, exclusions and the validity date.

Send it

Send by email, text or copied link. The client opens a proposal page, picks an option, signs, adds a PO number if they use one, and can pay the deposit right there. You see when it was first viewed and how many times.

After approval

Convert the approved estimate into a job with one action. Rundown creates the unscheduled visits, the openings, a draft purchase order for each vendor and the deposit invoice.

Cost and margin columns are only visible to roles with permission to see costs. Techs and subcontractors do not see them.
